OFFICES AND ADMINISTRATION BUILDINGS

More and more companies are waking up to the advantages of Merten's intelligent building system technology. They are particularly attracted by the ability to save on energy costs and a reduction in installation costs when changes occur.

TRIANON FRANKFURT, GERMANY
The bank building Trianin received the ‘femb award 2003 Office of the year’. OX2 architects, Aachen/Germany, realised the construction and created an official visit card for the reception and conference floor functioning as an interface for external and internal procedures.

The floor is situated in the 186m Trianin Tower in Frankfurt Westend. The grounds plans depict an equilateral triangle that is likewise cut into three triangular core fields. When leaving the elevator, the visitor steps on an homogenous illuminated glass ground in the central foyer amid a positive tension between the blue, green and orange core. Compatible to this style the Merten glass push-buttons are embedded in the wall. The range TRANCENT with its glass surface hiding invisible sensors fits into the play of colours and reflections in this continuum of space.

COUNCIL OF BISHOPS, BONN

Merten implemented a comprehensive KNX solution for the building designed by the architects Kissler & Effgen. Single room regulation, blind control, regulation of air conditioning, ventilation, and lighting, control of lightscenes, functional modules, visualisation technology - the home of the Council of Bishops in Bonn is equipped with the latest in building technology..
BERTELSMANN STIFTUNG, BERLIN

The Bertelsmann Stiftung in Berlin is proof that it is possible to bring together historical architecture and cutting-edge technology under one roof. The reconstruction of the former army headquarters planned by the architect Thomas van den Valentyn includes a comprehensive KNX system to control the lighting, heating and air conditioning. Everything is rounded off by the switch ranges chosen - PLANTEC and ARTEC in stainless steel.
OVAL OFFICE, HAMBURG

The Oval Office in Hamburg, designed by the architects nps tchoban voss, is named for its elliptical form. The complex boasts around 26 thousand square metres of space. The challenge for Merten was to develop an efficient concept for controlling the lighting and lightscenes (including by IR remote control). Merten's answer was a comprehensive KNX installation and the switch range ARTEC.
DEICHTORCENTER, HAMBURG

In Deichtorcenter in the city centre of Hamburg, traditional "rooms" are taboo. The architects Bothe, Richter, Teherani regard this building as "Office Design for the 21st Century". Workers in the building can make full use of generously dimensioned open areas within the glazed exterior. The exclusive ARTEC switch range in stainless steel provides the perfect compliment for control of lighting and lightscenes.
NORTH WÜRTTEMBERG DISTRICT MEDICAL ASSOCIATION, STUTTGART

The perfect KNX solution was installed in the new building constructed for the District Medical Association in Stuttgart. The state-of-the-art technology covers alarm signals, fire detection, visualisation, device monitoring, function module, blind control, lighting control, lightscenes, locking system and panel control. Everything is rounded off by the switch ranges chosen - M-Plan and M-Plan II in aluminium. These discretely fit in to any surroundings.
RAFFAY VW CAR DEALERSHIP, HAMBURG

Merten realised a comprehensive KNX solution covering the entire, newly constructed home of the Raffay VW car dealership in Hamburg. It now controls load management, lighting and lightscenes via panel control and function module. A panic button connected to an external security firm ensures security for the workplace. The switch range chosen was from System Design: ARTEC, specifically the stainless steel version.
IMP GODOVIC
Godovic is in south-western Slovenia, 60 km from the Italian border. It has been home to the headquarters of IMP, which manufactures air conditioners, since 1977. The company has approximately 200 employees.

  Solution:
As part of the extensive renovations to the administration building, the electrical installation was equipped with KNX components to switch the lighting automatically. In offices and conference rooms this is achieved with ARGUS presence detectors, while flush-mounted ARGUS 180 movement detectors are used in corridors and passageways. The KNX system is connected to the existing heating system from Klöckner-Möller via a Suconet gateway.

The idea is to expand the system when further renovations are carried out.
