The lightest of touches on the glass surface is enough to switch and dim the lighting and to easily control blinds and curtains. The switch ranges M-SMART and ANTIK were used as well.
SCHLOSSHOTEL BENSBERG

The second-largest palace north of the Alps, the architectural inspiration for what is now a grand hotel of international renown comes from Versailles and Winchester Castle. It was completely renovated in the year 2000. Merten installed an KNX bus system and modified its ANTIK switch range to suit the exact requirements of Schloss Bensberg. In order to ensure that the switch design was perfect for the interior, ANTIK was given a colour-matched white decorative cover.

PRIVATE HOUSING HANNOVER, GERMANY

The house was planned as a courtyard. A special meaning comes to the exterior surfaces as extension of the interiors.
Spatial image end of wall screens and spacehigh glazings let the areas turn into into one to another. The upper floor lies as metallic bodies from zinc-metall sheet over the yard level and contrasts to their open structure. The building with a front from untreated wooden materials finds the conclusion.
The architect Mr. Gerrit Schäfer from Hannover in Germany installed Merten switches in the design: M-PLAN and M-SMART.

VILLA IN COLOGNE
  Germany
A showcase villa, combining convenience and security. Intelligent building automation can do much more than just make lighting control simple and versatile - it provides additional security functions as well. Special attention has been given to the monitoring the burglary-resistant shutters, so that their status can be determined at any time.

  Solution:
Six lighting groups in each room allow the lighting to be perfectly adjusted to any individual atmosphere. The central OFF push-button on each floor and at the entrance ensures that no light is left switched on when leaving the floors or the building. A panic circuit installed in the residents' bedrooms lets them illuminate the entire outdoor area and all rooms and corridors in the house by pressing just a single button. The roller shutter axles have been equipped with contact switches which are wired via binary inputs to two display units in the bedroom and "farmhouse parlour", indicating whether or not the roller shutters are closed. Faults are forwarded to up to three mobile phone numbers via Merten Teleconnect.

RESIDENCE IN BAD HOMBURG
  Germany
This new private building, with luxurious facilities but a relatively understated façade, was fitted out with a universal concept emphasising lightness, spaciousness and subdued elegance. Glass used together with metal (steel and aluminium) conveys an open and innovative impression in the rooms.

  Solution:
The design envisioned by those planning the building foresaw intelligent solutions such as alarm signalling, individual room temperature control, and control of blinds and lighting. The switch series chosen were the TRANCENT range of glass push-buttons, and ARTEC. These harmonise superbly with the minimalist yet luxurious interior.
