The Design Annual 2008 – Inside: showtime
"The Design Annual" exhibition will be taking place from the 4th to the 7th of July in the Festhalle, Messe Frankfurt.
A presentation of switches and the "Mobilé" action theatre are the main attractions at the Merten stand at the Design Annual 2008.
For the "showtime" motto Merten will be taking to the stage with a very special backdrop: hundreds of switches will provide the optimum backdrop for the "Mobilé" action theatre performances which make switching and controlling more tangible through audience participation.
Merten's intelligent solutions for the subject areas radio and renovation, KNX and new construction and switches with added value are the focus of attention. Not only that, new products for building communication are also important parts of the product presentation in the Frankfurt Festhalle.

Since our homes were connected to the mains over a hundred years ago, the phrase "at the touch of a button" has become synonymous with comfort that is immediately available, the switch has become a symbol of simplicity and also that of the effect of surprise.
Nowadays the pushing of a button is an everyday occurrence that we take for granted, it still, however, has not lost any of its fascination – this can be observed when children discover for the first time which effects and reactions can be generated with a light switch.
In the current issue of our magazine we would like to share our enthusiasm for switching with you and show examples of the role switches have played historically and the role they still play.
7. RHINE-RUHR HALF-MARATHON IN DUISBURG – RUN WELL FOR MERTEN
Following the motto "Take off with Merten", a total of 30 Merten customers (wholesale, installers & and electrical planners) and four field sales employees from Sales office West started the seventh Rhine-Ruhr half-marathon in a splendid atmosphere on the 1st of June, 2008. Thanks to ample group preparation, all participants crossed the finish line into the MSV Arena. One of the participants won 3rd place in his age group and was presented with a trophy.
The run was followed by an entertainment programme. All of the runners and their partners and family members were invited to the XXL Sportcenter in Duisburg to celebrate together and to go bowling.
We would like to thank all of the participants for their strong athletic performance.

The module reliably reports faults in building technology and corrects them via remote control. ACCURATE TO THE SECOND - CROSS-FUNCTIONAL KNX TIMER
With the new Merten KNX timer, you are now providing your customers an efficient solution which ensures central, accurate to the second time control for the KNX bus. This has the option of operating in quartz mode, or atomic clock synchronisation.
